Warning Graphic: Chinese Dog Butchers

The kitchens where dog carcasses are piled ready to be skinned, diced, sliced, and cooked in front of patrons are all over China.

Koreans still cherish memories of dog eating.  The North no doubt must eat them given their food shortages, but did you know about Chinese canine cuisine?

China is stuck between a brutal past and a promising future.  So why are they still eating their pets?

Many Chinese not only eat dog regularly but they also practice the brutal act of beating dogs to death to release the blood into the muscle before slaughtering - live tenderizing.

But don't be too quick to judge, the USA once ate horsemeat and may again given Obama's recent okay regarding Nevada mustangs.  American Indians on reservations were often starved ruthlessly by US Government agents so the camp dogs quickly disappeared as a consequence.

When food is scarce people will eat just about anything. The Chinese do it, and you would too if you were competing for food in a country where nearly half the world's population is crammed into a smog ridden toxic wasteland of a country.

As China becomes wealthier, no doubt the practice will be banned. Then the Chinese can join the USA getting fat on McDonald's pink-slime instead.
